The Grove is a neighborhood in Farmington.
Before Season 1[]
Assistant Chief Ben Gilroy and his mistress Sedona Tellez devised a real estate scam on The Grove for their personal profit. First, Gilroy established a policy to divert police officers away from The Grove, thus increasing the crime rate in the area and decreasing the property values. Sedona then started to buy property at low prices, with the intention of selling them at more expensive prices, after Gilroy cleaned up the area from crime.
Season 1[]
The lack of manpower at The Grove resulted in the brutal deaths of Tanya Kramer and Violet Roosevelt, even after they called 911. When the residents of the area found out that the officers lasted more than an hour in responding to the call, a riot ensued. At the same time, Gilroy and Sedona were involved in a "Hit-and-Run" in the neighborhood, which sparked an investigation from Detective Dutch Wagenbach into the scam.
Because of the delay in the response to the 911 call from Tanya and Violet, three teenagers: Sonny, Benji, and Twanya, started ambushing police officers through bogus 911 calls. This resulted in the deaths of Officers Rudy, Patrick, and Chris, all murdered at The Grove. Another officer, Paula, was critically injured.
