Season 7 of The Shield began in September 2, 2008 on the FX Network. It was created by Shawn Ryan and consists of 13 episodes.
The Shield: Season 7 was released on DVD in North America on June 9, 2009.
Summary[]
Vic Mackey tries to save his job by playing both for Cruz Pezuela and ICE agent Olivia Murray, while paired with David Aceveda as well. Shane Vendrell takes drastic measures to avoid being accused of the murder of Lem, while Vic and Ronnie try to pin him down. Danny Sofer deals with Vic trying to assume responsibility for her child.

The season follows a few main plots and several subplots:
- Vic Mackey makes an allegiance with Cruz Pezuela to eventually bring him down.
- Vic and Ronnie Gardocki try to pin Shane Vendrell for the murder of Lem.
- Shane and Mara try to avoid being captured.
- Through different paths, Mackey and Shane spark a war between the Armenians and Salvadorans.
Major subplots[]
- Danny has to deal with Vic trying to assume responsibility for her child.
- Dutch tries to bring down a teenager who he believes is set to become a serial killer.

- According to Michael Ausiello at TV Guide, Season 7 will premiere on September 2, 2008[1][2], and will consist of 13 one-hour episodes. This will be the final season according to its creator and the network.[3] This has also been confirmed by a commercial on FX.
