Ryun Yu is an actor that played Pastor Sung during Season 2 and Joe Lee during Season 7 of The Shield.
Biography and career[]
Ryun Yu is an actor, producer, and director. He started his career as an actor in 2000, appearing in the TV series The Huntress. Ryun has also guest-starred on shows such as ER, The Unit, and Castle. He also appeared on the fourth season of 24.
Aside of TV, Ryun appeared in the 2004 film Straight-Jacket. Other films in which he has starred are Only the Brave (with Tamlyn Tomita), The Brothers Solomon, and The Mikado Project (also with Tomita). The latter was also written by him.
In 2016, Ryun wrote, produced, directed, starred, and edited the film The Last Tour. Ryun has also written a couple of short films. He is also a voice-over actor for video games.
Role on The Shield[]
Yu as Pastor Sung.
Yu was cast as Pastor Sung during the episode "Carte Blanche" of Season 2. However, his character didn't appear. According to Yu, they "filmed some scenes, but they cut that storyline entirely."[1] However, Yu was approached to play another character later on the show. During episode "Money Shot" of Season 7, he played Joe Lee.
