Rudy and his partner Paula received a 911 call from The Grove in Farmington and rushed to the location in competition with Julien Lowe and Danny Sofer. Rudy and Paula arrived first, but they were ambushed by three shooters from above. Rudy was shot several times and Paula was critically wounded.
