Ruben Avitia was born in Los Angeles, California. He started acting in the late 1980s.
Through his career, Avitia has worked on films like Hard to Kill, A Better Life, and The Sound and the Shadow. He has also worked on TV shows like Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Strong Medicine, and General Hospital. Since 2009, Avitia has been working steadily as a writer, producer, and director. Avitia is the father of actor Felix Avitia.
