Rodney J. Hobbs (born April 21, 1972; age 53) played Marwon during Season 4 of The Shield.
Biography and career[]
Rodney J. Hobbs was born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee to Robert and Remell Hobbs. He is the second of four children. Although Hobbs was interested in acting at an early age, his teachers insisted he should pursue another career because of his intelligence. He graduated from Central High, and completed a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia. After graduating, Hobbs worked for the Human Resources department at Overnite Transportation Co. for little over a year.
As he was working, Hobbs started to pursue an acting career on the side. He started acting in community theater and then professional local theater. After signing up with several agencies, Hobbs began getting work in commercials, videos, and films. After 10 years, he moved to Los Angeles to further his career.
Through the years, Hobbs has appeared in TV shows like Ghost Whisperer, Mad Men, Justified, Castle, and Magnum P.I. He has also appeared in films like Cigarettes for Breakfast, First Man, Action Figures, and Other People.
Hobbs has been married to Freda C. Johnson since 2002.
