Mary Kate was the mother of Jeffrey Cole.
Before Season 2[]
Mary Kate and William had a son. After their divorce, Jeffrey went to live with his mother in Venice, where he attended school. At some point, his father asked him to stay with him in Farmington for a year and Mary Kate reluctantly agreed.
Season 2[]
The day after Jeffrey disappeared, William called Mary Kate and she came over to his house. She called all of their friends there, but nobody knew anything about him. After they called the police, Officers Paul Jackson and Ray Carlson took their initial statement and contacted Detectives Claudette Wyms and Dutch Wagenbach. When they arrived, William and Mary Kate told them what had happened. Mary Kate kept on blaming William for Jeffrey's disappearance. The detectives asked them for a recent picture of Jeffrey and they gave it to him.
