Kenneth Allen "Kenny" Johnson (born July 13, 1963; age 61) played Detective Curtis "Lemonhead" Lemansky, better known as Lem, on The Shield and voiced the same character in The Shield: The Game.
Biography and career[]
Johnson was born in New Haven, Connecticut but was raised in Weathersfield, Vermont, in a 30-acre farm. He attended Central Connecticut State University, where he played football and basketball. Before becoming an actor, Johnson worked as a model for agencies like Wilhelmina and For Models. He lived for a year in Boston, Massachusetts, before relocating to Los Angeles, California, where he started pursuing an acting career. Johnson's height is 6' 1" (1.85 m).
Johnson started acting in television commercials, and then with small parts in TV shows like Family Matters and Grace Under Fire. From 1998 to 2000, he had his first regular role in Pensacola: Wings of Gold. In 2002, Johnson auditioned for the role of Terry Crowley on The Shield. However, casting directors liked his audition so much that they offered him the role of Lem instead. He was a member of the main cast from 2002 to 2006.
After The Shield, Johnson has had regular and recurring roles in shows like Saving Grace, Sons of Anarchy, and Bates Motel. Since 2017, he has been one of the leads on the show S.W.A.T. Aside from TV, he has appeared in films like Major League: Back to the Minors, Blade, and Zzyzx.
Johnson married his long-term girlfriend Cathleen Oveson in 2005. The couple has one child.
