Episode Title[]
The title of the episode is from the Bob Dylan song “The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest.” There is also a popular heavy metal band named Judas Priest, also named after the same song. The character of Judas Priest in the song is an ironic one because Judas was the disciple of Christ that stabbed him in the back; a priest who praises god but is also named Judas are two conflicting ideas. In the context of the episode, Acaveda is supposed to represent the Farmington district and the police there - since he is also on the city council committee that controls them - but instead he turns his back on them by giving up Antwon, their cop killer. He is supposed to be their voice, but instead stabs them in the back. Similar to the priest peaching god, but also being named after someone who betrayed the son of God.
