Synopsis[]

Vic mobilizes the Strike Team to help Aceveda's election campaign. Dutch and Claudette suspect a teenaged girl is lying about the rape accusation she's made against her employer.

Plot[]

2x11-ronnie-lem-2

Ronnie and Lem talk to Vic and Shane.

As Danny Sofer and Julien Lowe chase a pair of car thieves, both parties get out on foot. Julien takes down one and leaves him to be arrested as Danny finds a young child in the abandoned car's backseat. Julien chases the other man into a clothing store and catches him. At Vic Mackey's apartment, a healed Ronnie Gardocki declares himself fit to come back to the Strike Team and expresses desire to rob the money train, revealing his new plan. Not wanting to risk being caught out of position, he says that he noticed a garbage pickup at the train's site that is always waved in, so he posits stealing a truck, hiding Shane Vendrell and Curtis Lemansky in the back, and springing out at the scene. Vic is open to the idea, but reminds Ronnie that they only have two weeks.

Vic walks in to David Aceveda's office as he worries about the Los Angeles Times endorsing Karen Mitchell for the city council primary. As he voices concern over Lanie Kellis's report dropping a week before the vote, Vic posits busting high-profile gang leader Dante Fell who escaped justice years prior. Aceveda briefs the Barn on Fell, and Vic requests that he officially add Ronnie back, which he agrees to. Gordie Liman arrives and informs Vic that Corrine Mackey has been spotted visiting a divorce lawyer multiple times. He recommends his own divorce lawyer, Huell, but Vic insists it is not needed. Lanie Kellis introduces herself to Tavon Garris and asks to talk about Vic. In the Clubhouse, Vic approves Ronnie's plan and sends him and Lem on their way. Shane informs Vic he saw Tavon talking to Kellis just as he enters, claiming she did not ask him any in particular. Vic informs them that Kern Little is a friend of Fell's. As they leave, Tavon locks eyes with Kellis.

2x11-vic-kern-shane

Kern Little talks to Vic and Shane about his plans.

Little tells Vic that he has not heard from Fell in a while but that he can talk to Fell's adopted brother, Freddy "Frogger" Germaine. In return for this information, he asks to become Vic's new drug dealer partner, having been bleeding money after the deaths of Rondell Robinson and Theodore Osmond. Vic insists there is too much pressure on them right now, but promises to help in another way. As the Barn praises Julien for his good work, Tomas Motyashik, out on parole and wanting to get back with him, arrives. Julien rejects him.

2x11-tomas-julien

Tomas returns to the Barn.

As they drive, Vic realizes they are being followed and has Tavon hop out. A woman brings her daughter, Evette Montano, to the Barn to report her rape. She explains to Claudette Wyms that her employer Bruce Rosen raped her after hours.

Tavon gets back in the car, having gotten the car's license plate. Claudette has Evette take a rape kit, who is extremely hesitant on the grounds that she and her boyfriend had sex recently and she does not want her mother to know.

Frogger's landlord claims he has been out recently, and Tavon charms her into letting them into his apartment. As Julien gets his photo taken with Vanessa Lowe and Aceveda for the press, Tomas approaches and introduces himself as a friend. Julien takes him outside, where he insists he has nowhere to live. Julien insists that he is straight now and gives him his credit card for a hotel.

The Strike Team find a message from Little on Frogger's answering machine warning him that the police are looking for him. Upon confronting Little, Vic accepts that he did it because they hurt his business. He insists that he can set him up with a similar deal to Robinson's, and he agrees to find Frogger. Dutch and Claudette question Rosen, who insists he is innocent and that he had to put Evette on notice for her repeated infractions. He agrees that he kept her late to help close up, but that he never touched her. As Dutch asks Claudette to put in good word for him with Kellis, Rosen's wife Wendy arrives to find out what is happening. Claudette informs her what happened, leaving her in shock. Dutch asks to interview their daughter as part of procedure, making her affronted.

After Vic puts Matthew Mackey to bed, he asks to meet with Corrine on Tuesday, but learns that Cassidy Mackey has a school meeting set then. He relays this to Liman and Huell, the latter of which advises him to file for divorce first to increase his chances of getting good custody. As Dutch reads the rape kit results, he notes that the physical damage on Evette's body is consistent with her claims, but also an excess amount of living semen despite her claim that Rosen wore a condom and the time ensuring the sperm would be dead. Tavon returns with news that the car was a police vehicle sent by Kellis. Vic seems unconcerned, figuring all she will see is them arresting Fell. He gets a call from Little, who gives him Frogger's location, and he convinces Aceveda to get him a warrant. Tavon leads them to Frogger's location, having scoped out the place beforehand with the help of several informants. As Vic praises him for his work and prepares to storm in, FBI agent Vulpio, working the Fell case and having jurisdiction over them. Vulpio trying to stop them alerts the men nearby, starting a shootout that Vic and Shane push through. They burst into the address given and find several men.

Claudette points out the contradictions in Evette's story to her mother, which she insists is true. Dutch points these out to Evette, wondering if she lied because Rosen threatened to fire her. She tries to seduce Dutch and threatens to claim he molested her if he does not charge Rosen, but he points out that their interaction was recorded on the interrogation room's camera. A SWAT team raids the apartment as Vic and Shane identify Frogger, the two parties hauling him out together and bringing him back to the Barn. Vic quickly deduces that Kellis called the FBI and insults her, also revealing that he knows about her tail. He and Shane grill Frogger, who immediately lets it slip that Fell is in town.

Annoyed that she put him in danger by calling the FBI, Tavon sarcastically informs Kellis that Vic committed a minor parking infraction and to find the rest of his crimes by herself. Evette and her mother bring in the condom Rosen used, having pulled it out of the store's trash. Vic forces Frogger to look at photos of the dozens of murders Fell is responsible for and threatens to send him to jail in Fell's place. Frogger gives up his location, revealing he is in town for the birth of his first child. Aceveda stops Kellis from calling Tom Bankston until after Fell has been arrested. The police bust into the hotel room where Fell is, and he asks for a moment to hold his baby.

Dutch and Claudette inform the Rosens of the condom. Wendy is happy to consent to Rosen doing a DNA test, but to her surprise, he refuses. When Dutch tells him that they have probable cause to demand one anyway, Rosen admits that Evette seduced and then blackmailed him alongside her mother. A horrified Wendy attacks him and promises to keep him from their daughter forever as Dutch pulls her off. As Dutch revels in being correct, Claudette informs him that she put in good word while Evette is steered away by an officer. Vic and Shane visit Little, the former informing him that he has no intention of helping him. Vic tells him he can either accept this and get it made up later down the line, or start a fight he cannot win. Having gotten the garbage truck, Ronnie tentatively learns how to drive it. As he and Lem park it in the Strike Team's condemned lot, Vic informs them that their hitting of a couple cars made it onto the police radio.

Julien visits Tomas at his room to get his credit card back, who informs him that it has been cancelled after he spent it on luxury items that he plans to resell. He tries to seduce Julien, who pushes him off and leaves. As Kellis leaves, she promises Claudette that her report will be destructive, though she recommended that she be promoted to captain. Claudette expresses confidence that the report will do nothing, though Kellis points out that "maybe with someone like you in charge, things would change." Claudette affirms that she would not want the job. Vic taunts her with his capture of Fell as she leaves.

Corrine pounds on Vic's room's door, having been served with his divorce papers. She tells him that a friend of hers coerced her to talk to the lawyer and the second meeting was to get her deposit back. She notices Emma Prince's things in the room and leaves, promising that "I can make you miserable too" as Vic shuts the door.
