U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is a federal law enforcement agency that works under the Department of Homeland Security. It is responsible for identifying and investigating vulnerabilities on the nation's border, economic, transportation, and infrastructure security.
Some of the tasks assigned to the agency belonged previously to the Immigration and Naturalization Service, but were transferred once Homeland Security was created.
