Frank Gilmore was a transvestite that attacked Officer Danny Sofer after being arrested.
Before Season 1[]
Frank was arrested by police officers and sent to prison. During his time there, he was infected with HIV. After some time, he was released.
Season 1[]
Officers Danny Sofer and Julien Lowe arrested Frank after he solicited to a police officer. As he was being taken to the cage, he broke off from Julien's hold and hit Danny. He then jumped on her and bit her in the arm. Julien quickly grabbed his baton and started hitting him in the head until he let go of Danny, who immediately rushed to the bathroom to wash the wound, afraid that the virus would transfer to her. Later, Julien approached Frank and asked why he had done it, and he told him what happened in prison.
The night they were transferring Frank, Officers Paul Jackson, Ray Carlson, and Julien got into the transport van and held a "blanket party". As Jackson and Carlson held him, Julien started beating him with his baton excessively, with Jackson eventually having to pull him away.
