Chaney Kley Minnis (August 20, 1972 – July 24, 2007; age 34) played Officer Asher on The Shield from Season 4 to Season 7.

Biography

Kley was born in Manassas, Virginia. He had four siblings. Kley attended the Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Colorado, and later the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado where he majored in acting and drama.

Aside of his recurring role on The Shield, he also appeared on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, NCIS, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also appeared in the films Legally Blonde and Darkness Falls.

On July 24, 2007, Kley died during his sleep apparently due to sleep apnea. He is buried in Fairmount Cemetery, in Denver, Colorado.
