Asher was a Los Angeles Police Department officer working at the Barn in Farmington. He seems to have a friendly relationship with Vic Mackey. Vic has Asher do favors for him, including watching his family, on several occasions.

In episode "Rap Paypack" Asher reports in to Claudette and Dutch about another female victim, allegedly death cause being strangulation.

In "Spanish Practices" Asher is seen looking after Mackey's family before and after his police panel decision is made.

In "Parricide", Paula mentions "we lost Asher at shortstop" when trying to recruit Shane for the softball team. This possibly implies Asher may have left the department.
