Anthony Anderson (born August 15, 1970; age 54) played Antwon Mitchell on The Shield from Season 4 to Season 6.
Biography and career[]
Anthony Anderson was born and raised in Compton, California. He lived with his mother, an actress and telephone operator, and stepfather, who worked in the steel mill industry before opening a chain of clothing stores. Anderson is an alumnus of the Hollywood High School Performing Arts Magnet's Class of 1988, and is currently enrolled at Howard University with his son.
Anderson started performing as a stand-up comedian and claims his first attempt at a stage was a failure. He met his future friend and comedic actor, Guy Torry, who encouraged him to continue working on his act. They both later appeared together in Eddie Murphy's film Life.
Through his career, Anderson has appeared in TV shows like All About the Andersons, Law & Order, and Treme. Since 2014, he has played the lead role in Black-ish. Anderson has also appeared in films like Transformers, Barbershop, Scream 4, and Kangaroo Jack.
